The PVC Pipes Casing are a valid alternative to steel casings. There are many advantages in the employment of PVC pipes casing :

High machining precision has enabled to make filters with extensive open area. The window precision machined have width ( slot) from 0.2 to 3 mm. The choice of correct slot are made on the bases of soil particles size . The Open area and the slot will determine the water rate.

PVC Pipes Drainage
The use of slotted drainage pipes is required whenever there is excessive water in the ground which makes this less solid and consistent. By placing drainage pipes in the ground in sub-horizontal position, the excess of water is carried out away which favour dissipation of interstitial over-pressure. The fields of application are : trenches, landslide fronts, wells, tunnels, raised roads and railways, port areas and sport fields.
The drainage pipes could be :
-Micro-slotted single pipes (slot from 0.2 to 0.4 in silt/sand and from 0.6 to 0.8 in case of coarse sand or gravel)
-Double wall micro-slotted pipes, in the anulus can be inserted filtering material or siliceous gravel
-Micro-slotted pipes covered by filter fabric

The laying of pipes is realized with M / F squared threaded joints. The hydraulic seal is ensured by a front seal, pre-installed in the female junction. The conical shape of the seal allows to absorb the torsional vibrations of the submerged pump, which could cause the unscrewing of the column.
The maintenance operations are eased by the o-ring assembled on the male end of the junction. This kind of seal protects the joint from the intrusion of impurities (proliferations of algae or bacteria) that typically tends to deposit on the tubes submerged in wells, causing the obstruction of the threads. Both ends have a thicker wall in order to obtain a male thread without altering the compressive and tensile strength.
The connection of the riser column to the pump and the well head are realized through adapters made of micro-molted stainless steel AISI 304 .

Casagrande type cells
The casagrande piezometer is used to check the groundwater level. It is an instrument made up of filter material and two tubes. The longer tube allows the cell to be washed or purged using a flow of water. The water enters the porous filter and reaches a certain level in the shorter tube. The water level in the tube allows you to know the level of the water table.
